We have been made aware of an update from Microsoft that is breaking Outlook. Outlook will start and then crash (shutdown) immediately.
The fix is done on the command line and you can follow the steps below to resolve it (this rolls Outlook back to the previous version until Microsoft can fix the update).
1) Click on Start
2) Type CMD
3) Click on “Command Prompt”
Type or Copy and Paste the below 2 commands pressing the Enter key after each one:
cd c:/Program Files/Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun
officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.00.12827.20470
Outlook will then revert back to the previous version:
